Limericks

I am a huge fan of XKCD. So many things about that comic perfectly sums up who I am. I especially enjoy reading his blog (Randall Munroe), because it sometimes contains links to other things he’s worked on:

• WetRiffs
• ChessCoaster
• Geohashing
• LimerickDB

I really liked LimerickDB. I used to write a lot of poetry when I was younger, since it was always a challenge to actually write something that made sense, and was able to rhyme. Here’s a few highlights from the top 150 limericks.

There once was a buggy AI
Who decided her subject should die.
When the plot was uncovered,
The subjected discovered
That sadly the cake was a lie.

There once was a [person] from [place]
Whose [body part] was [special case].
When [event] would occur,
It would cause [him or her]
To violate [law of time/space].

A programmer started to cuss
Because getting to sleep was a fuss
As he lay there in bed
Looping ’round in his head
